In Ubuntu 9.10 I just had to change it from mic1 to mic2 to get my microphone to work. Is there something similar I can do in Kubuntu 9.10 to make my Microphone work.

Re: Microphone - Acer Aspire 8930G
If you KMix settings to not show a "Capture" slide than open it's configuration and move the functions which contain icons that are not question marks from the left panel to the right panel. At least one of them should be a capture function. On the KMix slider dialog check the capture button and move the slider up to about 80%. Use Audacity to record a sound clip and test the various settings of capture, mic and mic boost to give you the best sounding recording."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”
