hi i have a brother mfc420cn printer installed on my network and would like to install it on my kubuntu 9.1 but it is not in the printer menu
how do i install the driver

CUPS is probably installed. If not, install it.

Open FireFox and put
httP//localhost:631
into the URL box.

You will be asked for your account name and password. (You ARE the "admin").

Choose the option "Add a Printer".

Select the "Network Printer" option. If your network printer has a fixed IP then enter
socket://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9100
and click "Next".
Select your printer and set your options on the succeeding page.

IF you network printer does not have a fixed IP then use the "ipp" que sequence.
