Troubleshooting Desktop Effects - Start with video drivers

So how do I verify that I have the best drivers for my video hardware? Card says it is a GF6600LE which I believe is nVidia. Help me out with this and if I turn up any interesting fixes or work-arounds, I'll post them up on my Wiki page and pass out links to it.

Not cool. KFN is provided for our members use, and our guests benefit, all by our host Open Source. If you want to provide help to others, post them here in KFN. To state that you will post links to your your site means that you just want to use KFN as a means to direct others to your site. That is not acceptable.
