No sound with Youtube, cd and mp3 but test sound is ok

There is no audio (sound) with Youtube, cd and mp3 on Kbuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala).
Clicking the "Test" button on "KDE, Multimedia - System Settings, Sound and Video Configuration, Audio Output, Music", "PusleAudio" and "HDA NVidia (ALC888 Analog)" has audio coming out, although "HDA NVidia, NVIDIA HDMI (HDMI Audio Output) has no audio.
    Video is fine with Youtube.
    I installed the kubuntu-restricted-extras, libxine1-ffmpeg and alsa-oss package.
Computer is Acer Aspire X1800 (AX1800-E9232. Intel Core2 Quad Processor Q8200. Integrated Nvidia GeForce 7100).

Verify that you have the package pulseaudio installed. Open a console and type:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install --simulate pulseaudio
    If it isn't installed, then:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install pulseaudio
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

You may need to check your settings in KMix.

Make sure PCM is enabled with volume set to 100%:

      - right-click volume icon in the panel
      - select 'Show Mixer Window'
      - then 'Settings...Configure Channels'
      - ensure 'PCM' is selected then OK
      - set the slider control for PCM to 100%
      - close the mixer window

      Hopefully that should do it.

      Kubuntu 20.04(AMD64)/KDE 5

        It works!
        Thanks.
I install pulseaudio and change PCM volume settings to 100% by clicking the volume icon on the KDE4 task bar.
