Audio Playback Device Failure - HDA Intel ALC662

    Howdy All,

So when I booted into Kubuntu this morning I was greeted by the following lovely popup in the lower right hand corner of my screen:

    [img width=400 height=85]http://i48.tinypic.com/2lt5w7p.png[/img]

Now, some of my audio still works (Wine programs & Pandora among a few other things) however my virtual XP machine (running under http://virtualbox.org/"]Virtual Box non-OSE[/URL]) no longer out puts any audio.

Any idea what happened? I can confirm there is nothing wrong with my hardware and that it is a KDE/Linux issue because my audio still works 100% fine under Win7

Also here is the output of lspci on my hardware:
    Code:

    Hello Jeff,

It seems that we all suffer from the same problem. You can find more about this problem in the below topic:

Thanks for that... Its a shame there isn't a solution there, just more users reporting the same issue. At any rate glad I am not the only one with the problem :-/
