    [solved] Audio failure

    Hi everyone!

I just now tried to start Amarok up to listen to a radio stream. When it started up, in the notification area, a message popped up that read as follows:
    Phonon: Kubuntu's multimedia library
The audio device HDA Intel (ALC662 rev1) does not work. Falling back to.

I was very surprised that all of a sudden Kubuntu says my sound doesn't work! To make sure, I went to YouTube and just started watching something and the sound worked there (which is good; not everything is messed up!).

Is this a problem with Amarok perhaps? Should I uninstall it and reinstall it to see if it'll work?

At any rate, I'm running Kubuntu 9.10 if that helps any.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Re: Audio failure

I got it to work. Here is what I did in case anyone needs this in the future.
    • Log off Kubuntu
    • Shutdown completely
    • Wait 30 seconds
    • Unplug power cord from computer
    • Wait ten minutes
    • Plug cord back in
    • Turn computer one

Hmm. Had you done a full shutdown before this incident presented itself?
