I have an HP 3740. I recently refilled the color cartridge and the black is already full. I went to print a document and the thing printed out in a teal color. Curious as to what the heck that was about, and more than a little suspicious, I printed a test page under System Settings --> Printer Configuration. Turns out that the magenta in the color cartridge and the black cartridge are not printing at all. So, I go to the usual first step in printer diagnosis and hit "Clean Print Heads". I get the following:
"There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-document-format-not-supported'."
I have reinstalled CUPS, installed all the HP Deskjet support stuff I could find; but I still get that same blasted message. What gives? I get a similar message for the "Print Self Test" option, BTW. >>>HELLLLLLLLLP!!!<<<
I got the thing to do what I wanted under Wind Blows and found that the cartridge is borked. The magenta chamber is full, I checked, but the magenta won't even prime. That's the LAST time I buy ink cartridges at Wallyspank Walmart; things like this happen every time with them.
