No sound through headphones jack

Hi... I just installed Kubuntu 9.10 and I get no sound through the headphones jack, though through the speakers jack I get sound. On Ubuntu 9.10 it works perfect. Everything is unmuted and it's set high. I searched the forum and I tried a few things but it didn't work. Please help!

Sorry about that, what have you tried everything exactly? Adding the channels or the suggestions in the thread I linked? For the latter: I just discovered that there is a mixer specifically for Pulse, pavucontrol. I needed to install it and use it to enable the mic in skype ... you may want to try that.
