I'm not sure if this is a hardware or a software problem. I have attached an external monitor to my laptop through a digital lead. When kubuntu starts up I have to press Fn+F7 as though I was connecting to a projector. Doing it this way means I have to adjust the resolution every time I login, so everything fits on my monitor.
Is there a way to configure my computer so the external monitor displays the desktop from start up without the need to press Fn+F7?
