Karmic so boring slow with yakuake...

Installed yakuake console. And it takes several seconds to open the console window after pressing F12. Why? I noticed other applications opens with the same delay as well. Is there any way to decrease delay?

    Notebook: Asus m50Sr
Video: ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3470

if you have set up desktop effects, the delay will be longer becuase the animation has to run before the program is "open" , if not check your video settings

do you have desktop effects enabled.?

                      are any other programs slow?

have you tried yakuake with the regular ati driver built in to Xorg?
