    HPLIP

    Trying to get HPLIP working.

I checked under Synaptic and it was installed in the 9.10 installation.

There is no HPLIP listed in any of the launcher menus.

I have 3 HP printers, 2 are listed in "System Settings->Printer Configuration" and CUPS lists only those 2.

I need to run HPLIP to install the 3rd printer which also happens to be my main printer.

    I un-installed HPLIP and re-installed.

    No difference.

How do I access the HPLIP s/w to install the 3rd printer?

Yes - there is an option under "system Setting->Printer Configuration" to install a printer, but I would rather get HPLIP working and uinstall under HPLIP.

    Any ideas/suggestions??

    Re: HPLIP

Problem solved - Kept looking in Synpatic at HPLIP apps.

There is a gui listed, but not installed - should have been installed automatically by 9.10 installation.

    Crossed my fingers and installed.

Looked in Launcher menus. It appeared. Booted and installed all 3 printers.

Checked in CUPS. Had to delete the 2 printers that 9.10 installation installed and that left the 3 printers HPLIP installed.

Tip to whoever built the HPLIP package - INCLUDE the gui.
