HP Fax Drivers Broken In RC Still Broken In Final Release

Fax drivers for HP multi-function printers worked fine in the Alpha and Beta releases of Karmic. But, with the RC, the fax drivers suddenly became "missing" when trying to install the HP printer using sudo hp-setup. No fax drivers can be found, according to the error. No improvement with the Final Release. Did a clean install yesterday of the final and the fax drivers remain missing.

As nearly as I can tell, there is some kind of dependency problem involving which version of GCC is installed. I am sure this will probably get sorted out soon.

Yep. that's been my experience with my c309a has well... although I don't fax, so I didn't really look into it much.

I don't send very many faxes, myself and of course, I can fax manually from the HP 6310, anyway. But, it would be nice to just have the drivers all install as they always have and be able to use it. It might be a dependency problem, as I know it works fine, with the same version of hplip and other HP packages in OpenSUSE.

Hopefully, it will be resolved soon. It was fine until the Release Candidate.
