    Mouse isn't working in karmic

Hi everyone! (first time posting on these)

Yeah, basically, with my new upgrade to pretty karmic, i found a pretty big problem (for me, in the mouse generation)

More or less, as the subject says, i get a new intro to karmic through the mouse not working, and i can't get a wireless connection on kubuntu.

At the moment, i'm using my 7 partition for this.

Anywho, if you want to know what laptop i use, it's from HP:

HP 6735s, 2GHz AMD Turion X2, with ATI Radeon HD3200 integrated graphics, 4GB Ram, with roundabout 40GB given to kubuntu for installation, and about 500MB swap space (which i really should put up at some point)

Does the touchpad work? Or are you connecting an external mouse?

Regarding wireless, what wireless card do you have?

Yeah, it's the touchpad that doesn't work, but i haven't tried using a usb mouse yet

For the wireless drivers, the broadcom proprietary drivers work, so i'm guessing i use a broadcom wireless card.

Yeah, also, i'm pretty good at using kubuntu mouseless (had a lot of practice during jaunty times, cos i was kinda bored) so i can use the Konsole to open programs and stuff

Do you have a hotkey that disables the touchpad?

Other things, google for your partiticular model and ubuntu. If it's a driver problem, others are having it.

Nope, dont have those little button push thingies that turns on/off the touchpad. (if i did, it would help a lot, cos i could really annoy my sis )

I'm not sure wether it's drivers, but i might try a clean install of kubuntu again, and see if that'll help, cos it might be that somethin went wrong during the upgrade, that i didn't see.

Stock answer on the wireless, if your card is working but you just can't connect, you are most likely to get a result with wicd

Quickest way is in a terminal window

              Code:
              sudo apt-get update
              Return
              password
              Return
              sudo apt-get install wicd
              Return
wicd will be downloaded and installed and the default network manager will be removed. Reboot and the wireless icon will be in the taskbar. Click on it (you will need a mouse to do this of course!) and you can configure.

If you can connect a usb mouse you could take a look within system settings as there are config options in there. Strange it's not working at all though.

Before going through the hassle of reinstalling, have you run a 9.10 live cd, to see if the touchpad works?
