ZTE MF626 working like a charm!

Ok, after some strange situations yesterday, I think I can confidently say that the ZTE MF626 3G modem works like a charm in Karmic, no need to use wvdial, it connects right out of the network manager.

Man, I´m such a happy user now!

    cheers!

    Frank.

    ps. first post here. :-)

Edit: using the beta release, on a MSI Wind U120 netbook.

Did you have to configure anything or worked straight out of the box?

Well, I didnt had to configure anything at all. Just upgraded to 9.10 online, and it started to work.

Yes, there were a few problems, but after 4 or 5 reboots, now its working flawlessly. No need to configure anything.

I´m guessing (just guessing, I´m a total noob regarding Linux / Kubuntu) that my having the usbmodeswitch.conf and wvdial.conf files in Jaunty helped to make the process a lot more painlessly.

Bottom line? Working just great, no need to use usbmodeswitch and wvdial anymore, connecting right after clicking it on network manager. Even the bug that I had of plasma crashing after removing the modem is gone now.

      cheers!
