need help Installing Songbird 1.4.3

Well after a long day spent trying Songbird then Amarok so I can actually USE my ipod with kubuntu versus just staring at it and charging it I found that I had no idea how to use either, Amarok I could install but required an ungodly long process to allow it to work with my ipod (Sixth gen ipod classic) I attempted the long process of getting Amarok to be able to work with my ipod but gave up after repeated errors.

I managed once get Songbird installed in kubuntu 9.10 but can't seem to get it to install on 9.04, searched the forum, no topics related to my problem, at least not that I saw. Help please.
