kdebase not installed - why?

    kdebase not installed - why?

    I notice that kdebase isn't installed. Anyone know why?
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.
    Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

    I think, that as the kubuntu is using it's own metapackage (kubuntu-desktop) there is not need (overlapping) to use the kde metapackages /1/.

    They are not exactly the same. The kubuntu-desktop is installing the kate - the kdedase will install kwrite...etc.

    Same thing with the kdemultimedia, kdeadmin, etc...
