Hi,
I have migrated from Kubuntu 8.04 LTS to 9.04 AMD64 few days ago.
Quite Impressed with it. I getting almost 1.5 to 2 times performance
on same hardware though facing some UI glitches system is stable and sturdy
Very Very nice work I am extremely happy as I was with 8.04 32 bit for last 2/3 years.
hardware is Dell Vostro 1710, 2 GB RAM, Nvidia 8600M GS, Driver installed from NVidia site
rather than restricted from repositories No special X-Configs whatever installer did.
Since the environment is bit new I am facing a little problem in configuring look and feel
of desktop those as as follows.
1. I could not find any way to change theme for widgets placed on panel or desktop.
2. I could not get magnifier Desktop effect working. In this I get only a rectangle with original size
moving with cursor than showing magnified image in that rectangle.
Hope somebody guides me about these two points. There are other issues too but those are
intermittent and I feel that will be addresed soon in 9.1 release which is due this month end.
I am eagerly waiting for that and after migrating to it, I will post if necessary.
Thanks and Best Regards
Raja.
