[Solved] Time is -7 hours off bios time

    Hi All,

I have a customer who's BIOS time is set correctly.

Problem: "date" shows PDT (Pacific Daylight Saving Time) and seven hours earlier than the BIOS time.

How do I fix this? Set the Bios 7 hours later (to GMT)?

    Many thanks,
    -T

    Is the timezone set correctly?

System Settings -> Date & Time

What are you calling "correctly"? You have a choice of setting it to GMT or local. The OS then needs to know which one you are using so that it can adjust user time appropriately.

The BIOS is set to local time. And, it matches what is showing on my watch.

Aaaahhhhh POOP! I was setting it with the task bar's "Digital Clock Settings". I did not realize the "System Settings -> Date & Time" were not linked to it.

I am spending too much time in Windows, were they are linked. Thank you. I never would have found this.
