Media Player?

Im running kubuntu 9.04 with vlc, mplayer,kmplayer, and dragon player installed.(haven't installed kaffiene yet)

The release notes for kde 4.3 mention something about "Media Player". What is the plan/idea/story for KDE 4.x future "media player"? I haven't tried kde 4.3 yet so I have no idea but im very Konfused and Kurious.

Is there a proposed single KDE media player?

Some of those players are stand alone players (VLC), some are front-ends (Kaffeine is Xine/GStreamer front-end).

And some of those players are KDE players as they need the KDE bits to work:
