Default Keyrings in Evolution, a way to automate?

Sorry, but I have been Googling and searching for some hours, and have run out of steam.

Apparently, the developers have decreed I must use a password even if I don't want to. So, if I do automatic log-in, Evolution will not let me send/receive without the message:

Enter Password for default keyring to unlock.

I must say it seems at times Linux developers are simulating MS folks who take away the choices we appreciate in Linux. Just saying.

I found some hits on Evolution Help Online, but they said things like:

Applications > Accessoried > Password and Encryptions, and there are no such menu items on Kubuntu.

I tried renaming the files in .gnome2 > Keyrings and it worked the same.

I returned names to those two files, and moved them, which was a good thing, because when I rebooted, evolution lost all the e-mails, so I had to put them back.

Is there any way in Kubuntu to disable that keyring our automate it? Script files? Any help would be appreciated.

As one person said, I do not work for the CIA, and there are entirely too many passwords already which cannot be helped. even most URL's let you store the password.

I am reminded of my SIL. Otherwise, he is a great guy, but the computers in his house all have passwords, and he changes them from time to time But, if someone enters his house, passwords are not going to stop his computers from going out the door under someone's arm.

I wish I would know the answer, what I did in order to by pass those questions was to put a silly password like 1111 to the key ring

It seems that keyring hell is fairly common. I tried to set up Evolution on my
laptop but get the message that it is unable to "unlock the keyring." I have
tried every password that has ever been used on it in the last three years - no
luck. I has has had every version of Kubuntu (64 bit) since 6.04.

How can I delete it and start over since this one appears to be hopelessly
messed up? I know that it must be done very carefully otherwise things will
get worse. As far as I know, Evolution is the the only program that I use that
      needs to use the keyring.

I have a desktop (64 bit) that runs Evolution (including the keyring) without a
      hitch.

      Appreciate the help.

If I am not mistaken I think there is. If you go to system settings and go to the advance tab you are going to find the KDE wallet. Just uncheck it. I think that will do the trick and kde wallet will not ask you. If I am wrong I hope someone here would let me know.

I found this link in the forums: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...een#quickreply

          here is what I found:

You can disable it by going to KMenu > System Settings > Advanced > KDE Wallet.

There, just uncheck the "Enable the KDE wallet subsystem"

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, there is no mention of KDE wallet in KDE system settings. It is is 9.10 but not in 8.04.

            What else?

Dude, I am so sorry. I think there is a way still. Let's try something else. I remember that sometimes there are dependencies that are not installed. try searching for kde wallet or just wallet in synaptic to see how many options it gives you, and then just read them, I have found a lot of things that way, probably there is a plugin missing or something like that.

Thanks for your help -- on the other hand it didn't pan out. KDE Services showed that KWallet was running so
                I reinstalled kwallet .

I was attempted to remove it but that turned out to be a bad idea because that would remove KDE and other essentials.

                Any other ideas?
