    weird device notifier behavior

When I plug a usb hard drive into my system, the device notifier pops up and tells me there are two actions possible.

I click "Open with File Manager" and it opens the device...in Gwenview!

this doesn't seem right, I think it should open it in Dolphin, don't you?

    You're right, it should!

Check what's given as your default file manager in System Settings > Default Applications.

What is on the usb drive? If it's just images then KDE is just trying to second-guess you - in most cases it probably would be more convenient to open the drive in Gwenview if you're just dealing with images!

What was the second option you mentioned?

My device notifier (KDE 4.2.4, Kubuntu 9.04) gives me the option of downloading images with Digikam (I guess this would default back to Gwenview if you haven't got Digikam installed) and to 'Open With Dolphin'.

Ok, I didn't know there was a system setting for that. So that fixed it.

      This begs two questions...

      1. How did it get changed in my system? (I certainly didn't do it - probably just be a mystery)

      2. Gwenview is listed under filemanagers...when did Gwenview become a file manager?

No idea - it's certainly a weird one!
