KDE 4.3 Desktop icons/widgets randomly on Plasma Dashboard only (not desktop)

Hi,
I have Jaunty running KDE 4.3 from backports on a netbook. I have two desktops each assigned a different Activity. Desktop 1 has a huge Firefox & Thunderbird Icon and Desktop 2 has a few big status plasmoids (KDE 4.3 is perfect for Netbooks because of the Icon resize and activities as desktops to prevent clutter IMHO)

My problem is that randomly, desktop 1 does not display the icons. They are there when I bring the Dashboard to the front. This has never happened on Desktop 2 (yet)

Well, I now know what happened - just don't know why!

Basically I have two virtual desktops, I should have two Activities (one for each) but I don't. I have others created I don't know how! one of them is my virtual desktop 1 wallpaper with no icons. There you are - right virtual desktop - wrong activity. Maybe I'm having a touch of the "Plasma Bizarre" effect described by Abalone in these forums

If anyones interested in how I fixed - actually I didn't - I worked round it because the behaviour just seemed so flaky. Instead of assigning a single activity to each of two desktops and changing desktops (and activities) using the pager in the panel, I changed to a single desktop, made 2 activities and switched using the Activity Bar widget in a panel.
