Kubuntu Jaunty trash issues (slowness, and trash full error)

I'm experiencing some problems with Kubuntu Jaunty trash when I'm
deleting a folder that has large number of sub-folders (eg: with over
17,000 folders) the move window pops up but no activity and eventually it
says your trash is full you need to empty manually. The Trash bin size is set
to 10GB and it is empty when I delete the folder with sub folders but the
zip/arc version of that directory I have no trouble with it. The unzip size of
the folder is 170 MB and the zip version is 150MB

Has this problem been reported before and is there a fix to it?

Dude, you have no idea how long I had to ponder on that. The answer is quite simple. the first step is to unlock all the widget in the top right corner. You are going to see have of the ying/yang symbol. After you do that pass your mouse pointer next to the trashcan and you are going to see a section that would look like a wrench. click in it. and you are going to know how to work that out from there on. it's all cool.

It's referred to as the "Cashew", but ying/yang seems more appropriate.
