Forget KPackage, install Synaptic instead. These forums are full of this recommendation.

            Re: KPackage problem

Install synaptic after you solve this, to install synaptic was only a general advice.
It seems you have something improper in your sources.list file. It is a text file, you can read it and solve it by yourself, for example delete third party sources, or you can send the content of this file here (better without comment lines with #) and maybe somebody can help you.

If you google "Malformed line 50 in source list" you will see you are not alone.

              Re: KPackage problem

There's a problem with line 50 in your /etc/apt/sources.list file.

              Open a console and type:
              Code:
              sudo cat /etc/apt/sources.list
Copy and paste the output into your reply so we can take a look and let you know what needs to be done.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

By the way, fixing this problem will likely also fix your kpackagekit trouble as well.
