    Swfdec (solved)

It would seem that swfdec has taken over as the open source Flash player, the only trouble is that it doesn't work very well. YouTube is very jerky and many other sites just don't work at all, any thoughts? The version I'm using is swfdec 0.8.2 in Firefox 3.5.2

    Hi! Are you sure?

I thought gnash was the frontrunner. It is supposed to support youtube now:
    http://www.gnu.org/software/gnash/

    And apparently Hulu too!

I am keeping an eye on, because I am considering buying a PS3 whenever prices drop (and the kids' PS2 get really obsolete), as a gaming console that also double as as a blue-ray media player and HDTV PC (what a deal ). Long story short, Adobe's flash doesn't work on Linux PPC.

When I right click on a Flash window and look at the about box it says it is using swfdec 0.5.2, there are also problems with it using huge amounts of CPU time and hanging for periods of time.

I see, gnash is also available:

Has anybody else had a similar situation?
