    Synergy instalation - How to??

    Need some help PLEASE!!

I've been trying to get Synergy working between my Kubuntu 9.4 and Win XP computers. I can set-up OK and the test works but can not get it to Autostart on the Kubuntu machine (the "Server")

There seems to be a lot of variation looking on the Net on how to do this. It seems I need to edit my Xsettings file but whatever I try it will not save the file for me. Again looking on the Net I find stories of a bug in Kate that prevents this ()

Where do I go from here??

    Thanks for any help.

If you open kate in root mode you should be able to save your file. In terminal type kdesudo kate and enter your password. Navigate to your file and edit it and then save. Please back up your file first.
