    No video

Intel dual core 2.6Mhz, Intel on-board video and audio, 2Gb DDR1 memory, 250Gb hard drive running Kubuntu 9.04 kept current (not yet up to KDE 4.3). I recently added a webcam and Skype. Now I cannot play any video, but I don't know if this is connected to the problem. I removed PulseAudio as it was causing Skype issues. I get sound and no picture or just a failure. This appears to be with any file type. wmv and mpeg have failed today. Here is the console output from running vlc with one of the mpeg files. I get insufficient resources out of KPlayer as well. I have no applications, other than console, running at this time. The mpeg file is only 1.5Mb in size.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I can't figure out which resource is supposedly short.

    Re: No video

I do have the Medibuntu repositories active. I did that for the video codec's and the Skype application. I have several players installed - Kaffeine, Dragon, KPlayer, MPlayer, VLC, etc. It's strange that I get errors on some players and sound, but no video on others and none of them work. I have ffmpeg, Libdvdcss, and the restricted modules installed.

      Re: No video

It probably has to do with Skype and your webcam -- is that when the video problem began?

You might remove the webcam, temporarily, and install the libxine package (libexine1, maybe?) and then restart X and try it again.
