    Know bug: http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/digika...ly/008021.html

This bug was reported AFAIK. The only thing I can say: current version is 1.0-
    beta3.
I've uninstalled it until they get it fixed.

I had already tried all of the solutions suggested in that thread, except for the recompile, which I am not going to do.

What I am going to do until a fixed Digikam appears in the repository is to merely pull the SD chip from my camera and plug it into the SD port on my notebook, and use Dolphin to copy the pics and movies over to my pictures and videos directories. It's almost trivial to do, and Gwenview gives me about the same features for editing red eye and such.

            Re: kde 4.3 and digikam

I am using KDE 4.3 and I also find that digiKam does not display photos but it does successfully connect to my camera, Canon S2IS. It gives a preview of the camera images and I can download then.

I find it better than Gwenview to display images when I use the option View>Slideshow>Advanced Slideshow. With this I can alter the interval for Delay between images as well as the Transition effect, eg Growing. Non of these options are available on Gwenview >, but at least I can display images and movies in sequence as well as start the display at any point with Gwenview. DigiKam always insists on starting at the first image in a folder, as well as as also displaying images in sub-folders . I am patiently waiting for improvements in both packages.

If your digikam has stopped showing pics there is a potential solution on this thread (reply #13):
              http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3104528.0

              It worked for me.

Here is a bug report describing the solution as well:

Re: (temp Fixed till libmarble4, 4.30 is fix in backport repo ) kde 4.3 and digikam

I tried the temporary fix and it worked but I decided to wait for digikam to be fixed and today this occurred - well done to those who did the fix .

Are you saying the "fix" is in the repository? If not, where?
