Will I lose Grub by installing Windows?

After a couple of days installing and tweaking everything from scratch. I finally have things running the way I like them again.
Except...my kids are coming this weekend and they are gamers so there's no way round it, I will have to put Windows back on here.
I partitioned my HDD into four and read somewhere that Windows likes to be on the first partition. So I put Kubuntu on the second, the last is swap and I want to keep the third as a deposit.
    My question is this;

Will I lose Grub if I install Windows now?

I have had Grub problems before and had to fresh install. But if I can avoid it, I do not want to spend days DLing packages all over again.
If Grub may become an issue by installing Windows on partition 1, is there a way I can get round this?
    Thanks

It really does seem like a comprehensive and easy to follow tutorial but I could not get passed the first step. (It is written for Ubuntu 8.04).
I tried every which way of writing and even copied and pasted the command from the site but Terminal throws back an error

      ian@PC-IAN:~$ sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
      sudo: gedit: command not found

The sudo text above is copied and pasted from the site.
      Any ideas?

'gedit' is a Ubuntu program (Gnome). You have to start one of your editors 'as root' to edit the designated file.

          I think I got it.
          1. Open Kate
          2. Navigate to root/boot/grub/
          3. Click on the 'menu.lst' file in there and 'save as'

          Right?

            Sorry, no.

Press Alt+F2 and enter the command kdesudo kate /boot/grub/menu.lst

This will start your editor with root privileges so you can save the menu.lst file after editing.

Alternatively start Kate by pressing Alt+F2 and entering kdesudo kate

Then you can navigate (in Kate!) to /boot/grub/, load menu.lst, edit it and save it.

The key here is the kdesudo bit.
