Upgrading to OpenOffice 3.1

Can anyone help - I have looked everywhere!!!

I need to upgrade my OpenOffice to ver 3.1 to get some fixes and changes in OOBase. I have looked everywhere and can not find a detailed instruction on how to do this in Kubuntu 9.04.

There must be instructions somewhere!! NOTE - I'm still fairly new with Kubuntu so need details please!!!

oops... in another post ( also the one tha rog131 links to ) i have been told that the ubuntu packaging policy is such that u wont get an update just for the sake of an update.... has to be a security issue or some major bug...

downloaded openoffice 3.1 frm the ppa and installed. seems to be working fine.
