digikam does not find kipi plugins

The kipi plugin package that come with Jaunty has some problems with the gallery export (I can't get the comment set as the title), so I downloaded the last version 0.50 and compiled it from source. The make install places the plugins in /usr/local/lib/kde4/
But apparently Digikam from the package manager is looking for these files elewhere, because I get a 0 kipi plugins found in the configuration menu of digikam.

Does it mean that the packaged version uses other paths and if I use the plugins compiled from source, then I should also use digikam compiled from source?

What is my easiest option to fix this issue?

    Thanks in advance

I know installing in /*/local is better for local installs, but in this case it may be simpler to read a bit the source package docs and see how to run the configure script specifying the installation prefix as /usr (as opposed to /usr/local), most likely that will do. Make sure you uninstall the kipi plugins from the repo first!

      Thanks for the reply!

I will try to find where the paths are defined and make the necessary modifications.
