I installed the lastest version of flash player ver.10, it worked with firefox but opera. Although opera detected the plugins, it didn't work, nothing. When I visited webmessenger.yahoo.com, it's blank, but I used to be able to use this web with flash plugin ver.9. I guess there was problem with this version. I went to adobe.com to download and install again, but the problem wasn't solved yet. Then I typed this command: sudo apt-get autoremove adobe-flashplayer, it removed, but the plugin was still there (firefox still used flash player and so did opera). I went to /usr/lib/ to check out, the folder adobe-flashplayer disappeared. I went on to /usr/lib/mozilla, the plugin flashplugin_alternative.so was there, I couldn't remove it by any way. Now I want to removed that plugin or you can suggest other ways. Please help. And please tell me how to delete things and paste things into folder /usr/lib/, it seems imposible.

Re: Flash player ver10 doesn't work with opera
if u want gui (graphics)
open run command from the K menu and write
kdesu dolphin /folder/
kdesu is sudo whit graphics (works only for kde)
u will have to split view to dragndrop becouse u only have the sudo right in that open dolphin
waht i mean u cant dragndrop from the outside into the dolphin window
but u still can dragndrop from another kdesu dolphin window
makes sense doesnt it lol
and of course u can use the console just add sudo in fron of the copy or remove comands it basicaly the same
!!!BUT BE CAREFULL U COULD WRECK UR LINUX IF U MESS WHIT THE WRONG FILES!!!
shure i did
to explain the normal user hass no rights to change system settings thats why if u change any basic kubuntu setup it will ask for the root password
cheers

Re: Flash player ver10 doesn't work with opera
do you know why flash ver.10 doesn't work with opera?
Here the Opera(shared) & flash is working fine. Before you edit, BACKUP !
Why there are dead links ?

Re: Flash player ver10 doesn't work with opera
I'm not sure, I downloaded the installation file (deb) from opera.com and installed. My opera is version 9.64
> Ubuntu Community Documentation Opera Browser:
Install after downloading deb package manually
Go to Opera Download Site, choose your package, and pick a download mirror. This site does not offer a choice between Shared Qt and Static Qt, so if you have a preference, use this directory (be sure to choose a .deb package)...Before you edit, BACKUP !

Re: Flash player ver10 doesn't work with opera
ok now please explain what's different between the static and shared version in the most simple way. are they all free? is shared version in tar.bz2 extension and need compiling? then i will choose the static for convenience!!I don't want to waste time typing those command then do things it asks while I just need to wait few second for the installation if i choose deb!! sound silly huh? but i'm not good at terminal, i like the automatic in windows but everything need money!!I am a student, i have to use free software

Re: Flash player ver10 doesn't work with opera
This is the one and only deb for *buntu:
http://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux...4.qt4_i386.deb
At least, for the 9.64 version.
For 10.00b2 you need:
http://get.opera.com/pub/opera/linux...4.qt4_i386.debMost important laptop specs (this is my main computer, with Kubuntu on it):

4096MB RAM (DDR2)
500GB Hard Disk
ATI Mobility Radeon 4570HD Videocard with 512MB GDDR3 RAM, up to 2280MB VRAM
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo-processor T6600

OS: Kubuntu 10.10
