Postfix problem

Running Postfix in Kubuntu Jaunty 64 bit (fully updated) version.

Installed and setup postfix as shown in online tutorial.

When sending mail via Thunderbird using my domain as the sending url to a gmail address I use I get following error message.

    Any suggestions please?

    Re: Postfix problem

I used to run a mail server in my computer (static IP) some time ago. I gave up for many reasons. But long story short. I think the Relay error has to do with the receiving mail server (in this case in gmail) thinks that you spoofed an email address (yours), which is a typical trick used by spammers. As a crude example, if you send it from your machine, say, pool-32-25-pa.verizon.net , and the headers of the email say yourname@hotmail.com, then there is trouble. I am sure you can get this right with enough patience. It wasn't worthwhile for me though ..
