Re: Amarok 2.1 with no BOOM?
The latest version of the Amarok 2 for the Jaunty can be found from the Unsupported updates / Ubuntu backports > Topic: Amarok 2.1 Released
Upgrading the Amarok with the KPackageKit:
1) Enable the Unsupported updates.
2) Update/Refresh/Reload the package database.
3) Upgrage only the Amarok
- You DON'T press the "Apply all available updates"
- Press the gray plus sign to pick the Amarok and then Apply
4) Disable the Unsupported updates.
5) Update/Refresh/Reload the package database.
With the CLI
1) Enable the Unsupported updates.
2) Update the package database.
Code:sudo apt-get update
Code:sudo apt-get install amarok
5) Update the package database.
Code:sudo apt-get update

The solution is easy, though. Add the repository mentioned in the link, then install Amarok only. Do NOT do a full upgrade. Once it's installed, disable or remove the repository. That's it. I've done this a couple of times. Doesn't hurt anything.
