kmenu ->right click -> app launcher settings ->dialog box ( general + keybd shortcut ) . no right clicking or left clicking on anything there allows u to choose the icon......

Re: kmenu icon gone - replaced by firefox icon

sorry for not being more specific..

After u get the dialog box - stay in General.. on the right side there is "Icon: ['icon']" click on the icon.. in your case i guess u hav firefox icon. yes there u hav to click (on the firefox icon, not the text), not right click.

Then a new dailog box will appear allowing u to browse system icons or even your custom icons.

I hope this time it is solved

        cheers!!!

I am running 4.2.4 and it works for me.

Right click on what is supposed to be the K surrounded 3/4th by a gear, choose "Application Launcher Menu Settings"

The dropdown combo box called "View" allows you to chose another icon. It has a black "v" on its right side. Click that to see addtional icon options. Choose the one you want. The "Standard" icon should be among those listed. It will show a miniature of the K and gear icon. Select it and then right click on the "OK" button in the dialog.

hi, i had to switch to classic menu style before i got this option. good.

i can change the icon to show the favourites button. it appears fine. but when i try to change to the standar k+gear icon, i just get a blurred image....maybe that icon has been corrupted?

                    The kdelogo.png graphic icon is located under / > usr > share > kde4 > apps > kdm > pics

When you browse that location with Dolphin set in preview mode does the icon still look fuzzy?

Well, nothing wrong with your icon. So, you must have changed the icon size setting on one of the dialogs in Systemsetting. Probably "Appearance", "Desktop" or "Desktop Theme Details". Play around with them and see.

u were spot on. i went to systemsettings ->appearance ->icons ->advanced and just played with the settings before changing them back to the original values AND VOLLA !!! THE kdegear icon came back.

i think something must have happened when i added new themes. i have never touched the icon settings but some theme must hv changed something.

                          THANX BRO.
