I remember having used an app in KDE3 listing all system hardware components/devices info but I cannot find it in kde4. Could you suggestion an app? Thanks!

There are few more in the next post by marcoplNext i tried lshw. Now surprise surprise. lshw has a gtk front end . we have to install package lshw-gtk and execute 'sudo lshw -X' . another useful command is lshw -short.
the interface is a little clunky but ok. a reasonable gui hwbrowser..... !!! at last !!!Sony Vaio VGN-NR160E/T<br />Kubuntu 9.04 KDE 4.3.00

On Hardy 8.04 it is KInfoCenter
K Menu -> System -> Info Center
or
ALT+F2 -> kinfocenter
Hopefully it's still there in Jaunty.
