Keyboard issues (numlock + decimal separator)

Hi guys, please help. I have issues with my keyboard.

    1. I checked the option "Enable Numlock on startup" so I can use number immediately afer startup. This works. But the LED on keyboard is off. How to turn it on on startup? (manually I would press it twice - tu turn off numlock and turn on again with enabling also the LED indicator".

    2. I use my custom regional settings with "," (comma) as decimal separator. But when I press del on numlock I always get "." (dot) regardless on language used. I would like to type "." on English keyboard and "," on Slovak keyboard.

    Thanks

My NumLock indicator switches on and off again quite unpredictably. AFAIK it's not Ubuntu specific problem - It was the same on my old Debian before I migrated. Problem is not limited to a specific keyboard either - I've replaced my old Microsoft Natural Elite with Logitech Wave and no change. I believe it must be something wrong with basic keyboard support.

Ok, I can survive the numlock indicator.

Does anybody have an idea how can I set custom decimal point when pressing del on numlock?

And I have another issue. I need to type @ within slovak keyboard layout. This is possible in win by pressing Alt+v or Alt+64. Subquestion: How do I write custom chars from ascii table?
