    Annoying pop-up dialog in Kontact

I upgraded from 8.04 to Jaunty last weekend, and I'm having a weird thing happen in the address book section of Kontact. (I guess it's still KAddressBook.) When I merely select an entry that has more than one email address associated with it, a dialog box pops up asking me to select one of the email addresses. It doesn't say why, and it doesn't really do anything for me except pop up again and again when I select one.

    Anyone else have this happen?

This is a bug, it has been fixed.

Which version of KDE/Kontact are you using?
    Kubuntu 20.04(AMD64)/KDE 5

Thanks for the quick reply, quark. It's KDE 4.2, but I don't know if I have one of the 4.2.x upgrades off the top of my head. And I'm using the version of Kontact that came with it, which I believe is 1.4.?, but again, I don't know if there's a third digit in the version. I looked at the backtrace log, but it doesn't report the version number there. I'll check when I get home and update the thread with the exact versions then.

From Kontact a quick way to check version numbers - click 'Help' then 'About Kontact' and 'About KDE'.

        I'm on 1.4.4 and 4.2.4.

I got these updates by adding the 'Kubuntu updates' into my package manager repositories:

        https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/ppa

Make sure you add the jaunty sources and not koala. There's also a GPG key, all the info you need is on the page.

They are described as "Updates for Kubuntu releases which are due to go to Ubuntu Updates. Mostly KDE point releases." which I read as being ready for stable release, unless anyone says otherwise.

Sorry it took me so long to post this stuff...been busy the last few days. I'm running Kontact
Version 1.4.2, on KDE Version 4.2.2. I'll try the update and post the results.

Ok, I performed the update, but I still have those dialogs popping up. In fact, now there are twice as many, two for each of my address books. I still need some direction on this. Thanks!

My information came from this post:

              http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=46600

I found the problem went away once I'd upgraded, I didn't have to do anything else, sorry.
