shortcuts not working

Hi All,

Last week I have upgraded my system to Kubuntu 9.04, afterwards my userdefined shortcuts for the applications are not working. In order to check the problem I have tried the following places

keyboard & Mouse - system settings -> Global keyboard shortcuts -> KDE components: khotkeys

in that in "Action window" All the Application names are displayed more than once for e.g.:

k menu - kde4-dolphin.desktop >
k menu - kde4-dolphin.desktop >
k menu - kde4-dolphin.desktop >
k menu - kde4-dolphin.desktop > Meta+G
k menu - kde4-dolphin.desktop >
k menu - kde4-dolphin.desktop >
k menu - kde4-dolphin.desktop >


How can I reestablish my broken shortcuts?

What KDE version are you running? Here, in KDE 4.2.4, I don't see the same as you in the first option:

keyboard & Mouse - system settings -> Global keyboard shortcuts -> KDE components: khotkeys

Instead of " KDE components: khotkeys" I see a bunch of applications (Kopete, Amarok, etc) and their hotkeys.

For the second option (Action window), I only see one entry with no duplicated entries. Have you tried choosing "defaults"? Maybe at least this will restore the system? (You'll probably have to re-do your key bindings one by one)

Hi, two things come to mind:

* KDE-4.2.4 is out (mainly a bug release, not sure how much it would help): http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.2.4

* Did you try pushig defaults? This seems like khotkeys getting confused at merging your own config and the system defaults ...

Yes they are my Daughter (Elder one) and Son (Younger one)
