firefox struggles

I wanted to install 3 firefox extensions globally noscript, download helper, and add block plus. I would also like to know how to set add block pluses sites globally and noscripts allowed sites globally plus the ability for users to add their own.
When I ran firefox as root to try and do this. I now no longer get the proper homepage and no longer see my bookmarks; in fact I see no bookmarks at all and I am unable to add them. The bookmarks are still in my ~/.mozilla/firefox ... directory and my homepage is correct in my preferences I don't know how to tell what is going on with firefox? any suggestions are welcome thank you.

sudo apt-get remove firefox-3.0
sudo rm -rf /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.11
sudo rm -rf /etc/firefox-3.0
sudo apt-get install firefox-3.0

it is still messed up where else could firefox be looking?

to understand this bether

there is ur home directory that ur basic user
and there is the root folder thats the super user

firefox creates two diferent acounts that why u dont see ur normal user stuff when use sudo firefox

you should just install firefox and tha addons from the firefox addon page it worked for me and i have download helper and add block plus

no need to konsole anything if u need them

I'm not su'ed anymore. running firefox as my normal user no longer displays the normal users profile.
there is no /root/.mozilla directory.

After blowing away ~/.mozilla I am now able to see things correctly again. I copied the necessary stuff out of the old profile. bookmarks and stuff.

I still want the plug-ins global. Not just for the one user and then install as the next user and the next. They are plug-ins that all users should use.
