I know that this is probably a ridiculous question, but I am going to ask anyway

Any guestimates on when Fire Fox 3.5 will hit the repos?

Well then get the rc from the repo's, it's near complete.

Or go to mozilla.com and download the Linux version, it's not exactly complicated to install.

well hopefully it will be faster but the porno-surf mode aka private-mode isn't really that big of a deal
most browser just clear the private data if u wish to

servers will still have ur private data if they log it

ff repos aren't up jet so ull have to manually download them

I understand a lot of our commonly used extensions have not been upgraded, and will not be installed if you install 3.5.

That probably depends on which real world you mean ....

Seriously, at my office where I'm stuck on a Wintel POS, I upgraded to FF 3.5 yesterday, rebooted, and except for a notice that the Dot Net plugin would no longer be functional, I see no difference at all.

How about support for HTML 5 audio and video elements?

Unfortunately, I believe I've found a bug in Firefox 3.5's OGG support.

With longer videos, the audio loses sync. Becomes most apparent after about 20 minutes, and progressively gets worse.

Using a standalone player, audio and video remain in sync.

                  I've posted a bug report:

It's software. There will be bugs. It will be fixed.

Or perhaps, more realistically "old bugs will be replaced with newer models, in due time".

Yes, and probably more quickly if it is reported, attention is brought to it, and it's voted up, hence my post. :P
