    B. my phone can see my laptop but i just cant get kbluetooth4 (v 0.3) to see my phone and create a trusted pair.
    When i goto kbluetooth -> device manager -> new - > bluetooth device wizard - > select device type > input device (hopefully this includes my phone? not just mouse and keybd) , it just searches and searches.... i get nothing.

    C. the funny thing is when i select kbluetooth -> send file. it can detect my hphone and it can send a file over succesfully.

    D. From my phone, when i try to resend the same file back, an error message pops us saying "Cannot connect to the obex device. Its either not accessible or does not support selected service"

    Why does this happen?

    E. From this forum , i have read posts suggesting to install blueman and remove kbluetooth? Also that gnome-obex-server should be installed?

    These are the packages that i have;

    ~$ dpkg --get-selections|grep -i obex

    libopenobex1 install
    obex-data-server install

    ~$ dpkg --get-selections|grep -i blue

    bluetooth install
    bluez install
    bluez-alsa install
    bluez-cups install
    bluez-gstreamer install
    bluez-utils install
    kdebluetooth install
    libbluetooth3 install

    Any input would be much appreciated.? Sorry for the long post? This bluetooth thingy was the main reason i shifted from mandriva 2009.

    guys, i tried getting more info on the blueman package with 'sudo apt-cache search blueman' but nothing came up. is it not in the traditional kubuntu repos?

      Re: newbie - bluetooth and windows mobile 6 - on htc 3600i phone

      Guys, i found posts at;

      http://www.micropctalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5999
      http://bigbrovar.wordpress.com/2009/...er-for-ubuntu/
      https://wiki.kubuntu.org/BluetoothCellularModemGPRS

      which talks abt the merits of blueman.

      Then i went to;

      http://blueman-project.org/. The download page indicates that packages for ubuntu are available at a PPA. Frm the kubuntu wiki page, i gather that is safe to install these ubuntu packages in kubuntu.

      After adding the PPA to my sources.list file manually, i tried...

      'sudo apt-get install blueman -s'

      Reading package lists... Done
      Building dependency tree
      Reading state information... Done
      The following extra packages will be installed:
      libgweather-common libgweather1 libmbca0 mobile-broadband-provider-info network-manager network-manager-gnome python-gconf python-notify python-pyorbit
      Suggested packages:
      python-gconf-dbg python-pyorbit-dbg
      The following packages will be REMOVED:
      wicd
      The following NEW packages will be installed:
      blueman libgweather-common libgweather1 libmbca0 mobile-broadband-provider-info network-manager network-manager-gnome python-gconf python-notify

        1. Well, i took the plunge and installed blueman which of course installed network-manager,etc and removed wicd.
        Later on , i nstalled wicd. Thank heavens apt-get DID NOT REMOVE blueman when wicd was installed.

        2. Ok, now back to the bluetooth stuff.

        blueman picked up my phone straight away ( i created a trust) and i can transfer a file from my laptop to the phone easily.

        BUT....

        i just cant transfer a file frm the phone ( my phone can see the laptop) to the laptop? I got the same error message as before, i.e.;

        "Cannot connect to the obex device. Its either not accessible or does not support selected service" . and then..

        'Cannot copy file aaaaaa.bbbb.txt. the remote system refused the netowrk connection"

        Any ideas anybody? anyway, i better stop. this thing is driving me nuts...
