    Amarok + WMA + Jaunty 64bit = problem

I can't find much info on this problem. I have installed all the evil proprietary packages that looked promising - w64 from multiverse, kubuntu-restricted-extras, gstreamer bad and ugly etc.

Surely there are other people with this problem, and presumably some of them have solved it?

I realise that its a bad idea to be using WMA in the first place, but unfortunately most of my collection (about 1000 albums) is in WMA, so for the moment I'm stuck with it.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I'm running Jaunty 64bit and I have no trouble with WMA playback (I, too, have a lot of old albums in WMA...). But setting up all this proprietary multimedia stuff was quite a hassle, although I think it's not primarily a 64bit problem (except for flash).

So I used this guide to setup all my multimedia stuff and now everything is working perfectly (like, pardon me, on windows...).

It's a bit lengthy, so be prepared to spend some time, just following the instructions - but it's worth it!

    Hope that helps...
