Printer Configuration

I seem to have lost the Printer Configuration icon from my K-menu->Applicaitons->System menu. I checked on my laptop and it seems to be a link to a program called kcmshell4. I tried to add a new item to launch it duplicating the one on my laptop, but it gives me an error when I try...(attached image). Can someone please offer assistance. I know I can use web cups interface, but I like adding printers via kcmshell as it adds all the features of the printer like scanner and fax at same time.

Do you see the printer configuration icon if you go into System Settings?

I do not.
However, I have gotten pretty good at re-installing the OS so that is what I did. 2 hrs later, I am back to where I left off.

I don't have any printer configuration from System Settings either but I really don't care, the CUPS interface is fine with me. I will point out that kcmshell4 by itself does nothing. Try typing kcmshell4 --list in a terminal to get a list of the modules you can use with it. I looked through my list and nothing for printers so I'm guessing there is a package you need to install if some of us have it and some don't. I did a clean install from a 9.04 alpha and I don't have anything to configure printing from System Settings. I used the CUPS web interface.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing recently. It got lost in an PPA update about a week ago. As other have said though, I didn't worry about it because I can just use the CUPs interface for anything I need.

I think the problem is the system-config-printer-kde package. It contains a desktop file that points to "/usr/bin/system-config-printer-applet-kde" but that file doesn't exist.
