    I had USB disabled in the virtualbox settings, lol

    Like I said, I didn't try really hard

    the iPhone works, but I went through a bunch of the steps in one of the articles you posted... it may have just worked out of the box...

    remote works fine too

        Yeah I think USB is disabled by default.... at least it was disabled on some of the other virtual machines I have.
