check the date and time value in your bios first.
you can then change your setting in kubuntu manually from "system settings -> date&time".
i haven't check if "set date&time automatically" now works ok.
it used to give troubles last time i checked.
but it may have been fixed by now.
if you dual boot with windoze be aware that ubuntu and windoze handle time differently.
ubuntu defaults to using utc and handly the offset depending on your time zone.
windoze uses local time.
so, dual booting ubuntu and windoze has the side effect of upsetting each other's clock.
