Kubuntu Effects Screwed Up My PC

My Kubuntu 9.04 has been running smoothly so far, however today I changed the settings for translucency.
I just changed the values.
Now I only get the half screen. It has dropped down to bottom. I cannot click things in the bottom half.
I get the entire screen when I used the alt+tab for cover flip.
Please help.
I have installed it using wubi.

Maybe Alt-F2 "system settings", with no quote marks?

Or right-click the desktop and choose "settings"?

I never tried "wubi"

So I don't know if you get the usual booting menu but, if so & if you feel that it is messed up & want to restore the original configurations.

When you boot the computer & reach the booting menu select "Ubuntu .... (recovery mode)"

When you reach the recovery menu, select:
"xfix Try to fix x server"

This should restore the default x server configurations & should solve your problem.
