Firefox email

How goes I have what is probably an easy question I am running Firefox and I am trying to get it to use thunderbird whenever I click on an email link any help here would be appreciated

Edit -> Preferences -> Applications -> mailto

If you <Search> for mailto on these Forums, you will find several suggestions to cure the problem.
One of them will work for you.

A re-boot will be necessary before the changes work.

Tried the mailto fix and it didn't work.

It works for me. It's such a basic function it should work for you too.

I've just found that if i click on a mailto link and Firefox isn't sure what to do, it throws up a 'Select Program' type requester which offers Gmail, Yahoo mail, and something else, but it opens in my /home directory.

I found that by navigating to /usr/bin and selecting thunderbird, it immediately opens the Tbird 'Compose' window.
There is a handy "Remember my choice" box to tick.

I don't know if this will help you, but i hope so.
