I don't remember exactly what was the problem but Exaile developers suggested me to start exaile from console and send them any errors from console. There was something missing. Exaile is written in Phyton and it was one of libraries (sorry don't remember which one). Try doing the same. Boys from Exaile are really helpful.
If nothing will come out of this - remove & purge exaile you have installed. Try installing via Synaptics or other software manager - it will suggest a lot of dependencies to install with it and than it will work.
If not - only thing I can think of is to find on exaile web pages which libraries are required and install them more manually.
