    How to modify taskbar

    Hi,

In Kubuntu 8.04 taskbar was wonderful. I get rid of new "ideas" from KDE4 and returned it as much as I can to functionality of 8.04 but:

    - In Hardy there was four icons next to "K" Menu. How can I get them back there ?

    - When I deleted some of the programs (ex. kopete) they are still in favourites menu. How to delete it from there?

2.3 How can I add applets to the panel?
2.4 Can I move the applets on the panel?
    ...

Right click them (this seems to work only with the "KickOff menu style") > A menu should pop up

    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

      Re: How to modify taskbar

I have a similar problem as above.

I want to delete a icon from the Kickoff taskbar but the icon isn't in "Favourites" it's in "Application -> Education" and if I right click the only thing on the popup menu is "move to favourites".

But how do i delete it. The program is uninstalled according to Adept and if i click the icon in the taskbar nothing happens so i suspect everything but the icon is gone... (and reeinstalling the program and the removing it again didn't help either)

        Re: How to modify taskbar

I'd just right click on the icon and delete it...

But since you are talking about the kickoff taskbar, maybe you are not talking about kubuntu 09.04?

I don't know if I understand what you mean, but you can right-click the Kickoff "K" icon and select "Menu Editor" (or run kmenuedit)

            Re: How to modify taskbar

The secret is in the right click, as toad has mentioned. However before you can add or remove anything to or from the panel (or alter the panel settings for example) you need to right click and select "unlock widgets". Opportunities are then many.

Once you have set things up how you want then right click again and select "lock widgets" to prevent a slip of the mouse messing things up.
